CNC machine capability

The GT TECH shop floor runs CNC milling and turning machines from Brother, Okuma and DMG MORI, laid out in process cells so parts travel the shortest distance between operations.

CNC MILLING

Machining centres

The milling cell combines vertical machining centres with a 5-axis machine. Five-axis machining reaches several faces in a single setup, which cuts the number of re-fixturings and holds positional accuracy between the faces of a part. The Brother SPEEDIO machines change tools and traverse quickly, suiting small and medium parts at steady volume, while the Okuma and DMG MORI machines take larger parts and heavier cuts.

CNC TURNING

CNC lathes

The turning cell handles rotational parts: shafts, bushings, tubes and threaded components. The Okuma lathes cover both one-off parts and monthly repeat batches. Every machine carries mist extraction to keep the shop environment clean and stable.

How we run it

  • Each machine carries its own control tag so current jobs and maintenance schedules stay traceable.
  • Machining programs are prepared in advance and archived, so repeat orders run to the same parameters as the previous batch.
  • Machines run in shifts, with milling and turning cells coordinated for parts that need both operations.

The measuring room is a separate glass-partitioned, air-conditioned space, so readings are not affected by dust or by temperature on the shop floor.

COORDINATE MEASURING

CMM measuring machine

An ACCRETECH XYZAX AXCEL coordinate measuring machine sits on a granite table and verifies dimensions, hole positions, flatness and squareness against the drawing. It is the primary instrument for accepting parts with tight tolerances, particularly semiconductor equipment components and aerospace parts.

MEASURING INSTRUMENTS

Height gauge and hand instruments

Alongside the CMM, the room holds a Mitutoyo height gauge together with hand instruments such as calipers, micrometers and dial indicators. These support quick in-process checks, catching deviation early rather than at final acceptance.

How we control it

  • The first part of every batch is fully measured before production volume is released.
  • Measurement results are recorded and delivered with the parts whenever a customer requires quality records.
  • The measuring room is separated from running machines to keep vibration and dust away from the readings.
